Yankees star Aaron Judge has begun light baseball activities, marking a significant step in his recovery from a torn toe ligament. The reigning AL MVP was seen playing catch before Wednesday's game in Oakland, his first time back on the field since the injury on June 3rd.
While Judge acknowledged this as a positive development, he emphasized the lengthy road ahead. "There’s a lot we’ve got to do to get back on the field," Judge stated. "This is just one step in the process."

The injury occurred when Judge collided with the outfield wall at Dodger Stadium while making a catch. Yankees manager Aaron Boone expressed optimism about Judge's progress, noting the slow but steady nature of his recovery. "It's great to see him out here walking and playing catch," Boone commented. "It's been a slow process, but we're seeing consistent improvement."

Boone identified the biggest hurdle for Judge as regaining comfort in his swing, particularly the ability to rotate and put weight on his injured foot. "Being able to really torque and turn on that back foot is key," Boone explained. "Once he can swing freely, we'll know he's close to being ready to build up strength and get back in the game."
