Former NFL star Cam Newton recently shared some intriguing insights into his past visits to strip clubs, revealing a motivation that goes beyond the typical expectations. In a candid conversation on the "Funky Friday" podcast, Newton admitted that his presence at such establishments wasn't primarily about the dancers, but rather about engaging in a competitive spending spree with other patrons.

"I never went to a strip club for women," Newton stated. "I always went for the guys." He explained that the thrill came from outspending others, turning the experience into a financial one-upmanship game. "As soon as I see somebody thinking that they've got money... ‘OK you spending five? I’mma spend six. If you gonna spend 10, I’mma spend 15.’ We're gonna have a rain off."

This competitive spirit, Newton emphasized, overshadowed any interest in the female entertainers, whom he referred to as "decoration." He clarified, "So that's my whole thing, I don't go to strip clubs for chicks even though I want decoration. I was a competitor and still am a competitor…"
Newton's illustrious NFL career spanned 11 seasons, primarily with the Carolina Panthers, where he earned the MVP title in 2015 and led the team to a Super Bowl appearance. He also had a stint with the New England Patriots. His career boasts impressive statistics: 32,382 passing yards, 194 passing touchdowns, 5,628 rushing yards, and 75 rushing touchdowns. Newton hasn't played in the NFL since 2021.
