’90s icons Candace Cameron Bure and Danica McKellar recently launched the inaugural Great American Family Christmas Festival at New York's Northwell Park at USB Arena. Bure, now chief creative officer at Great American Family Channel, and McKellar, her longtime friend, are embracing the holiday spirit both on and off screen.
In a candid conversation, Bure, known for her numerous Christmas movie roles, discussed her husband's reaction to her on-screen romances. "It's never truly comfortable seeing your spouse with someone else, even if it's just a brief kiss," she admitted. However, she emphasized her husband's unwavering support and pride in her work. Open communication has been key, allowing them to navigate these situations with mutual respect and understanding.

McKellar echoed Bure's sentiments, sharing that her husband also prefers not to see her romantic scenes. She humorously added that she often kisses him during those moments in her movies.

Bure, married to former NHL player Valeri Bure since 1996, has three children. McKellar, star of "A Cinderella Christmas Ball," has a son with her ex-husband and is now married to attorney Scott Sveslosky, who also has a son from a previous relationship.

The two actresses also discussed their shared faith, a bond strengthened after Bure introduced McKellar to church. McKellar expressed how faith has brought peace and a new perspective to her life, particularly during stressful times. She emphasized her excitement about Great American Family's focus on faith, family, and country.

Bure, with over 15 years of experience in Christmas movies, shared her passion for creating heartwarming holiday content that resonates with audiences. She highlighted the positive feedback received for her film "A Christmas Less Traveled," particularly its portrayal of grief and loss. She also mentioned McKellar’s contributions as a writer for Great American Family Media.

McKellar expressed gratitude for Great American Media CEO Bill Abbott, crediting him with revitalizing her career. She spoke about her loyalty to Abbott, who previously held the same position at Hallmark.

Bure described the Great American Family Christmas Festival as a realization of a long-held dream, offering families an immersive holiday experience. The festival features various activities, including ice skating, photos with Santa, and meet-and-greets with network talent.
Finally, Bure addressed the recent news of her "Full House" co-star Dave Coulier's cancer diagnosis. She expressed her sadness and support, emphasizing their close friendship and the hope they all share. She also commented on the recent controversy surrounding John Stamos's show of support for Coulier, expressing surprise at the backlash and highlighting the good intentions behind the gesture.
