Kentucky Representative James Comer, the Republican chair of the House Oversight Committee, has questioned President Biden's stance on family values and criminal justice reform in light of Hunter Biden's recent legal issues. Comer's committee is currently investigating alleged influence peddling by the Biden family.
In an interview on "Jesse Watters Primetime," Comer pointed to the irony of the Biden administration's push for increased IRS funding, which Republicans argue could lead to a significant increase in IRS agents, while Hunter Biden faces tax evasion charges. He also highlighted the contrast between President Biden's advocacy for gun control and Hunter Biden's guilty plea related to illegal firearm possession.

Comer criticized the president's leadership, suggesting the American public deserves better and expressing hope for new leadership in the next presidential election.
The congressman also raised concerns about President Biden's ongoing support for Ukraine, referencing Biden's 2018 comments about withholding loan guarantees unless a Ukrainian prosecutor investigating Burisma, the energy company Hunter Biden served on the board of, was fired. Comer expressed concern about the amount of money being sent to Ukraine without sufficient oversight.

Comer questioned whether President Biden is apprehensive due to needing to clarify his involvement in the Burisma situation, stating that new evidence continues to emerge. He also emphasized that while the investigation focuses on Hunter Biden, he believes President Biden is the central figure in the controversy. Comer cited text messages from Hunter Biden, including one reportedly sent to his sister-in-law containing derogatory language about Jill Biden, and another to his daughter Naomi complaining about covering his father's expenses.

The controversy surrounding Hunter Biden's estranged 4-year-old daughter, whom President Biden and the first lady reportedly refuse to acknowledge as their seventh grandchild, adds another layer to the ongoing scrutiny of the Biden family.
