Sanders warned, "If I smell smoke... that will be your last puff." While players initially reacted with laughter, Coach Prime emphasized the seriousness of the rule, stating that any player caught smoking would face consequences. He reiterated the warning, extending it to practices and team meals.
This Alamo Bowl marks Colorado's first bowl appearance since 2020 and their quest to secure their first bowl victory since 2004. With potential top NFL draft picks Travis Hunter and Shedeur Sanders on the roster, the team has taken the precaution of securing disability insurance to protect against potential injuries impacting their draft prospects.
Sanders acknowledged the significance of having two likely top draft picks, stating, "We happen to have two players that are probably going to be the first two picks of the NFL Draft... and they have received... the highest number of coverage that has ever been covered in college football."
