In a disturbing incident, a 66-year-old Savannah, Georgia pub owner was violently attacked in his home by two assailants disguised as Amazon delivery personnel. The attack occurred on the morning of January 11th, with the perpetrators donning the recognizable blue Amazon jackets and carrying a seemingly innocuous cardboard box.
Security footage captured the two individuals approaching the victim's residence on Price Street, their faces concealed by ski masks. After knocking on the door, they launched a brutal assault, reportedly lasting nearly eight minutes, using what has been described as a sledgehammer-like weapon. The victim's cries for help can be heard in the chilling video recording.
Neighbors quickly responded to the commotion and discovered the victim suffering from multiple head wounds, requiring fourteen stitches. He continues to recover from this shocking and unprovoked attack. The assailants reportedly absconded with $80.
An Amazon spokesperson confirmed that an internal investigation determined the individuals in the video were not associated with any scheduled Amazon deliveries. The company emphasized that its delivery drivers typically do not knock on doors or require signatures for packages unless prearranged. Amazon also stated it actively monitors for unauthorized use of its branded apparel and takes steps to remove such items when discovered.
The Savannah Police Department is actively pursuing leads in this case and encourages anyone who may have observed individuals matching the suspects' descriptions in the vicinity of the incident to come forward with information.
