Heather Mack, the American woman accused of conspiring to kill her mother in Bali nearly a decade ago, has entered a guilty plea in a U.S. court. The 27-year-old admitted her guilt before Judge Matthew Kennelly, acknowledging her role in the death of her mother, Sheila von Wiese-Mack, whose remains were found in a suitcase in 2014.

Mack's sentencing is scheduled for December 18th. Her guilty plea could result in a reduced maximum sentence of 28 years. Mack was previously convicted in Indonesia and served seven years of a ten-year sentence before being deported to the U.S. and subsequently arrested.
The 2014 murder involved Mack's then-boyfriend, Tommy Schaefer, who is accused of bludgeoning von Wiese-Mack to death with a fruit bowl. Prosecutors allege Mack assisted in the murder by covering her mother's mouth. Schaefer remains imprisoned in Indonesia. Mack was 18 and pregnant with Schaefer's child at the time of the incident.

The case has garnered significant attention due to its brutal nature and the international legal proceedings involved. Mack's return to the U.S. and subsequent arrest marked a new chapter in the long-running legal saga.
