Following the game, Herro implied that Thompson's frustration stemmed from the Rockets' struggles on offense. Udoka, on the other hand, downplayed the incident, attributing it to a simple mismatch in physical strength. Herro delivered a strong performance for the Heat, recording 27 points, 9 assists, and 6 rebounds. Bam Adebayo contributed a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds, while Nikola Jokić added 18 points off the bench. Thompson finished with 5 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists before his ejection. Dillon Brooks led the Rockets in scoring with 22 points, and Alperen Sengun posted an impressive 18 points and 18 rebounds.
