Jimmy Levy's Anti-Woke Anthems Top Charts, Sparking Cultural Conversation

Gospel singer Jimmy Levy's recent chart-topping hits have ignited a cultural firestorm. His anti-woke rap songs, including "Boycott Target" and "Reclaim the Rainbow," unexpectedly dethroned major artists like Taylor Swift and K-Pop sensation Jimin from Billboard and iTunes. Levy believes this success demonstrates the significant influence of "patriots" and people of faith, challenging the narratives presented by mainstream media and Hollywood.

The "Boycott Target" track, a collaboration with "MAGA rapper" Forgiato Blow, surged to number one on iTunes in late May. A month later, "Reclaim the Rainbow," featuring Bryson Gray and Shemeka Michelle, conquered Billboard's rap digital song sales chart. Levy expressed astonishment at the rapid ascent of these songs.

"Boycott Target" was penned in response to Target's collaboration with a designer who identifies as a Satanist. Levy, troubled by the partnership and the retailer's offering of transgender-affirming swimwear for children, felt compelled to express his concerns through music. The song also criticizes transgender medical interventions for minors. While the designer's products sold at Target did not contain Satanic imagery, the ensuing controversy led to their removal, sparking outrage among LGBTQ+ advocates.

Despite the songs' success, Levy and Blow allege they encountered shadow-banning on social media and Apple Music. Levy claims the songs were initially difficult to search for on iTunes, becoming readily accessible only after the alleged censorship gained attention. Similar issues were reported on Instagram and TikTok. Apple Music has not yet responded to these claims.

"Reclaim the Rainbow" calls for Christians to reclaim the biblical symbolism of the rainbow. While some media outlets labeled the song homophobic, Levy refutes this, emphasizing his love for all people and his commitment to truth. He believes the label is an attempt to discredit the song and his character.

Both songs generated significant backlash and hate mail, including death threats. Levy acknowledges that the negativity surrounding these songs surpassed the criticism he received for his anti-mandate music during the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite the vitriol, he continues to pray for his critics. Currently, Levy is working on a worship album, with his latest single, "Amen," recently released.
