A Kentucky police officer was airlifted to St. Mary's Medical Center after being shot through the passenger window of his patrol car by a high-powered rifle on Monday. Authorities have issued a shelter-in-place order for nearby residents while they search for the shooter. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) is assisting in the investigation, but no suspect description has been released. Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear has requested prayers for the officer and expressed support for his family and the law enforcement community.

In a separate incident, two NYPD officers were injured in Harlem on Tuesday when a Range Rover struck them during a traffic stop. Both officers are currently in stable condition. This incident comes shortly after the announcement of NYPD Commissioner Keechant Sewell's resignation.
