Early Thursday morning in Bell Gardens, a dramatic confrontation unfolded between an Los Angeles County Sheriff's deputy and a suspect driving a white SUV. The incident, captured on video by a witness, began when the deputy attempted a traffic stop after observing the SUV speeding and performing donuts. The situation quickly escalated as the suspect repeatedly rammed the deputy's patrol car.

The video footage shows the white SUV colliding with the patrol car at least four times, with the suspect reversing and accelerating into the vehicle multiple times. Following the initial impact, the deputy discharged their weapon, firing approximately 18 rounds. The final collision was forceful enough to push the patrol car onto the sidewalk and against a light pole.

Both the deputy and the suspect, identified as a Hispanic male, were transported to a local hospital for treatment. The deputy, who sustained injuries from the collisions, has since been released. The suspect, who suffered gunshot wounds, remains in stable condition. The suspect's identity has not yet been publicly released.

The California Highway Patrol closed several freeway off-ramps near the scene for several hours during the preliminary investigation. The incident remains under investigation by the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.
