Actor Mark Wahlberg's decision to shave his head for his role in the action thriller "Flight Risk" elicited a surprising reaction from his wife, Rhea Durham. Wahlberg, 53, chose to shave his head rather than endure the lengthy process of applying and maintaining a bald cap for the Mel Gibson-directed film.
While Wahlberg found the shaved head practical, Durham, 46, was initially taken aback. "She dove under the covers," Wahlberg recounted with a chuckle, adding that she eventually warmed up to the new look.
Wahlberg explained his reasoning for the drastic change, emphasizing the time saved compared to using a bald cap. He described the daily routine of shaving his head to maintain the character's appearance.

The actor, who has been married to Durham since 2009, shared that he sometimes forgot about his shaved head, even at public events. He recalled an incident at a UFC event where he almost revealed his new look prematurely, but his son intervened.
Wahlberg first unveiled his shaved head in a June Instagram post. He later elaborated on the process of achieving the look in an interview, explaining how he maintained the style throughout filming.
"Flight Risk," co-starring Michelle Dockery and Topher Grace, follows a U.S. marshal transporting a witness across Alaska, where tensions escalate as hidden identities are revealed. The film premiered in theaters on January 24.
