Marlins Reinstate Chisholm Jr., Rogers Remains Sidelined

Center fielder Jazz Chisholm Jr. rejoined the Miami Marlins on Monday after recovering from a right toe turf injury that kept him on the injured list for a month. However, left-handed pitcher Trevor Rogers will remain out of action, at least through the All-Star break, due to a partially torn right lat.

Chisholm Jr. hasn't played since a May 13 collision with the outfield wall while attempting a catch against Cincinnati. He was batting .229 with seven home runs and 14 stolen bases before the injury. He recently completed a rehab assignment with Triple-A Jacksonville.

Rogers revealed to the Miami Herald that he felt a pop during a bullpen warm-up before a June 10 rehab start. While he doesn't anticipate needing surgery, the injury has kept him on the injured list since April 21, initially with a left biceps strain, and later moved to the 60-day IL on June 14. His last appearance was on April 19 against San Francisco, leaving him with a 1-2 record, a 4.00 ERA, and 19 strikeouts in 18 innings.

In addition to Chisholm Jr.'s return, the Marlins activated third baseman Jean Segura from the 10-day injured list, where he was recovering from a left hamstring strain. To make room on the roster, utility player Garrett Hampson and infielder Jacob Amaya were optioned to Triple-A Jacksonville.

The Marlins, currently boasting their best start since their 1997 World Series win, are embarking on a six-game road trip, starting with a three-game series against Boston on Tuesday, followed by another three games against Atlanta.
