Mike Batayeh, 'Breaking Bad' Actor, Dies at 52

Mike Batayeh, recognized for his role as the laundromat manager in the hit television series "Breaking Bad," has passed away at the age of 52. His manager confirmed to Fox News Digital that Batayeh died in his sleep on June 1st due to a heart attack.

Batayeh's character, Dennis Markowski, managed the industrial laundromat secretly used by Walter White and Jesse Pinkman as a front for their drug operation. He appeared in three episodes of the series between 2011 and 2012. His character met a dramatic end after indicating he would reveal compromising information in exchange for immunity.

Beyond "Breaking Bad," Batayeh showcased his versatility in shows like "Sleeper Cell," "Night Stalker," and even a memorable appearance on "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia." His acting credits also include roles in popular sitcoms such as "Boy Meets World," "The Bernie Mac Show," and "Everybody Loves Raymond." He also had a successful career as a stand-up comedian.

Originally from Detroit, Batayeh relocated to Los Angeles in his twenties to pursue his entertainment career. His obituary, shared by his family, highlighted his international success as a comedian, screenwriter, actor, and musician. He was particularly recognized within the Arab-American community for his pioneering work, including comedy performances in the Middle East and a comedy special filmed for Showtime Arabia.

Batayeh's family described him as a "kind, sensitive, intelligent, and gifted soul" and expressed the profound impact of his loss. He is survived by five sisters and predeceased by his parents and another sister. A celebration of life service is scheduled for June 16th, followed by his funeral on June 17th.
