The National Football League (NFL) is bracing for another wave of suspensions related to gambling policy violations. ESPN reports that a "handful of players" are expected to be sidelined for the entire season due to breaches of league rules. Among those anticipated to receive a season-long suspension is Indianapolis Colts cornerback and kick returner Isaiah Rodgers, who is reportedly under investigation for potentially betting on Colts games.

Rodgers publicly addressed the situation in a June 5th social media post, acknowledging an "error in judgment" and taking responsibility for his actions. He expressed remorse for letting down the Colts organization, coaches, and teammates, and vowed to work towards rectifying his mistakes.

These impending suspensions follow a string of disciplinary actions taken by the NFL in April, when three players were suspended indefinitely and two others received six-game suspensions for gambling-related infractions. Detroit Lions players Quintez Cephus and C.J. Moore, along with Washington Commanders player Shaka Toney, were handed indefinite suspensions. Lions wide receivers Stanley Berryhill and Jameson Williams were given six-game suspensions. The league also reinstated Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Calvin Ridley in March after a year-long suspension for gambling on NFL games during his time with the Atlanta Falcons.
