Pro Bowl Games Roster Adjustments Made as Star Quarterbacks Opt Out

The NFL has announced several roster changes for the upcoming Pro Bowl Games in Orlando, Florida. Three prominent quarterbacks – Lamar Jackson, Josh Allen, and Jayden Daniels – have opted out of participating, necessitating the selection of replacements.

Stepping in for Jackson will be New England Patriots rookie Drake Maye. Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Russell Wilson will replace Allen, and Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Baker Mayfield will take Daniels' spot.

The absence of these quarterbacks stems from their teams' playoff runs. Jackson's Ravens lost to Allen's Bills in the divisional round. Allen's Bills then fell to the Chiefs, marking Allen's fourth postseason loss against Kansas City. Daniels led the Commanders in their NFC title game defeat against the Eagles.

Further roster adjustments include Buffalo Bills running back James Cook replacing Derrick Henry and Bills center Connor McGovern also joining the Pro Bowl roster as a replacement.

While Jackson and Allen are expected to be top contenders for the NFL MVP award, their presence in New Orleans next week will not be for the Super Bowl as they had hoped.
