Rams Coordinator Raheem Morris Reunites with Boy He Saved from Drowning

Just a couple of weeks after his heroic actions, Los Angeles Rams Defensive Coordinator Raheem Morris had a heartwarming reunion with the young boy whose life he helped save. Morris, vacationing with his family at Encore Las Vegas, sprang into action when he noticed a 3-year-old, Wyatt, struggling in the pool. While a lifeguard initiated CPR, Morris quickly located an Automated External Defibrillator (AED).

Recounting the event to ABC's "Good Morning America," Morris described the scene: "My kids were in the pool, and I heard a scream. I saw Wyatt by the pool, and he was blue. The panic in those moments, when you feel alone, is overwhelming." Working alongside another bystander, Dr. Andrew Oleksyn, who performed CPR, Morris utilized the AED. He credited the Rams' training staff for equipping him with the essential first aid knowledge and protocols.

In a statement shortly after the incident, Morris told ESPN, "I saw people calling 911, so my first thought was, 'Where's the AED?' By the time I returned, a doctor was on-site starting compressions. I was able to give him the AED, help him get it set up, apply the pads to the child, and thankfully, Wyatt ended up being okay."

Wyatt's mother, Kelseigh Stanley, expressed her gratitude to "GMA," calling the outcome a miracle and acknowledging that everyone involved was exactly where they needed to be. This incident highlights the increasing importance of AEDs, especially in light of recent events like Damar Hamlin's on-field cardiac arrest and the tragic drowning of Shaq Barrett's young daughter. Morris noted that these tragedies have heightened awareness and preparedness for such emergencies.
