Shaun Alexander Backs Trump's Stance on Transgender Athletes in Women's Sports

Former NFL running back Shaun Alexander recently voiced his support for former President Donald Trump's executive order concerning transgender athletes' participation in women's sports. During an appearance on "The Ricky Cobb Show," the three-time Pro Bowler and father of nine daughters explained his perspective.

Alexander believes the executive order is a positive step, emphasizing the dedication and hard work female athletes invest in their training. He expressed concern about the physical advantages biological males might possess, making competition unfair for girls. He stated, "For anything to give an advantage besides hard work is something that would just be crushing for any young lady."

Alexander's viewpoint seems to resonate with a significant portion of the public. A New York Times/Ipsos poll revealed that a majority of Americans, including a considerable number of Democrats, disagree with allowing transgender athletes to compete in women's sports. The poll indicated that 79% of the 2,128 respondents opposed the inclusion of biological males identifying as women in women's sports, with 67% of Democrat-leaning respondents sharing the same sentiment.
