SUV Crashes into New Hampshire Restaurant, Injuring Over a Dozen

A bustling New Hampshire restaurant became the scene of chaos on Sunday when an SUV plowed through its front, leaving more than a dozen people injured. Around 12:45 p.m., emergency responders rushed to the Looney Bin Bar and Grill in Laconia after reports of the crash. Firefighters immediately began triaging the injured, prioritizing those with the most serious wounds.

Approximately 14 individuals were transported to nearby hospitals. Two suffered significant lower leg injuries, while others sustained lacerations, contusions, and other non-life-threatening injuries. An additional 20 people were assessed at the scene but did not require hospitalization.

The incident occurred during the busy lunch rush on a holiday weekend, according to Laconia Fire Captain Chad Vaillancourt. He praised the rapid response of mutual aid partners, which allowed first responders to efficiently assist numerous injured people. The restaurant suffered extensive damage from the impact.

Police Chief Matt Canfield explained that the incident stemmed from a three-car collision in front of the restaurant. One of the vehicles involved was propelled into the building. Initial investigations suggest that neither speed nor alcohol played a role in the crash.
