Authorities in Colorado have located a body believed to be that of 18-year-old University of Colorado-Boulder student Megan Trussell in a remote area of Boulder Canyon. Trussell was last seen at her residence hall on February 9th, dressed in dark yoga pants, a blue/gray jacket, and white platform sneakers. A missing person report was filed with the University of Colorado Police Department (CUPD) on February 12th.

The Boulder County Sheriff's Office was alerted to the discovery of a deceased female near mile marker 40 in Boulder Canyon by Open Space and Mountain Parks rangers on the morning of February 14th. The challenging terrain necessitated a technical recovery operation. While authorities suspect the deceased is Megan Trussell, the Boulder County coroner will officially confirm the identity and determine the cause of death through an autopsy.

Local and state agencies collaborated on the investigation into Trussell's disappearance. The recovery efforts temporarily closed Boulder Canyon Drive due to hazardous weather conditions. The circumstances surrounding Trussell's disappearance and how she ended up in Boulder Canyon remain unknown.
