A Ridgeway, Virginia resident has been apprehended and charged in connection with an alleged murder-for-hire plot, as reported by the Henry County Sheriff's Office. 44-year-old Gennevieve McGhee is accused of orchestrating the plan, which was uncovered through audio and video recordings obtained during an investigation.
Law enforcement officials state that McGhee met with a confidential informant at her home. The informant, working in cooperation with authorities, recorded the conversation during which McGhee allegedly outlined the details of the plot, including payment arrangements and instructions for both a robbery and a murder.
The Henry County Sheriff’s Office has formally charged McGhee with criminal solicitation of murder and conspiracy to commit a felony. She was arrested on Wednesday and is currently being held without bond at the Henry County Adult Detention Center. The Henry County Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office is actively reviewing the case.
