The Indianapolis Colts swiftly released defensive end Rashod Berry and cornerback Isaiah Rodgers Sr. after the NFL handed down indefinite suspensions to both players for violating the league's gambling policy during the 2022 season. The players are eligible to seek reinstatement after the 2023 NFL season concludes.

Colts General Manager Chris Ballard released a statement explaining the roster moves were a direct result of the players' violation of the league's gambling policy, emphasizing the organization's commitment to upholding the integrity of the game and educating players and staff about the rules and potential repercussions.
Rodgers had previously acknowledged his involvement in gambling activities in a social media post on June 5th, taking responsibility for his actions and expressing remorse for the distraction caused to the Colts organization and his teammates. He stated his commitment to rectifying his mistakes.

In addition to Berry and Rodgers, free agent Demetrius Taylor also received an indefinite suspension. Tennessee Titans offensive tackle Nicholas Petit-Frere was given a six-game suspension for betting on non-NFL sports at the team facility. The NFL reiterated its gambling policy, which prohibits any form of gambling within league facilities.

These suspensions follow earlier disciplinary actions taken by the NFL in April, where three players received indefinite suspensions and two others were suspended for six games for gambling policy violations. Those players included Quintez Cephus and C.J. Moore of the Detroit Lions, Shaka Toney of the Washington Commanders, and Lions wide receivers Stanley Berryhill and Jameson Williams.
