FCC Chairman Brendan Carr has launched an investigation into a radio station with ties to George Soros for allegedly broadcasting the live locations of undercover Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents during deportation operations. The station, KCBS 740 AM in San Francisco, is part of a network of over 200 Audacy radio stations in which a Soros-backed group acquired a stake last year.
The FCC's Enforcement Bureau is examining whether the station's actions violate its licensing terms, specifically the obligation to operate in the "public interest." The investigation follows reports that KCBS revealed specific details about the undercover ICE operation, including the location, make, model, and color of unmarked vehicles, in an area known for gang activity. The information was initially disseminated by the Santa Clara County Rapid Response Network, an organization focused on protecting immigrant communities from deportation.

Chairman Carr emphasized the importance of ensuring the safety of ICE agents and stated that the FCC will hold broadcasters accountable for adhering to their public interest responsibilities. He expressed gratitude for the work of DHS and ICE agents.

Audacy has not yet commented on the investigation.
