Joe Rogan Rejects Harris Campaign's Explanation for Failed Interview

Podcast host Joe Rogan has again refuted the Kamala Harris campaign's narrative surrounding a failed interview attempt during the 2024 election cycle. Rogan insists the campaign is spreading misinformation to obscure the real reasons behind the vice president's non-appearance on his show.

The Harris campaign previously claimed that Rogan's team imposed unreasonable conditions, including refusing a meeting on October 25th, citing it as Rogan's "personal day." They later alleged Rogan interviewed Donald Trump on that same day, despite declining to meet with Harris. Rogan dismisses these claims as political maneuvering. "It's standard political nonsense," he stated. "They're lying. They're covering up, and they're lying. I would have gladly welcomed her on the show, and as I've said before, the plan was to air both candidate interviews simultaneously."

Harris, Rogan

A new book excerpt reveals details of the failed negotiation process. Rogan's guest, Adam Curry, suggested the incident exposed a weakness in the "elite messaging system," arguing that the campaign feared Harris wouldn't perform well in the less controlled environment of Rogan's podcast.

Rogan maintained he would have provided a neutral platform and helped Harris articulate her policies effectively. "They were simply scared," he commented. "They could have let her come on. I would have facilitated the conversation. Not that I need to hold the vice president’s hand, mind you." Curry jokingly interjected, "You probably would have voted for her." Rogan laughed, responding, "No, I wouldn't have done that. I wasn't going to vote for her."

Rogan emphasized his willingness to present Harris's positions fairly, stating, "I was more than happy to present the strongest possible arguments for her stances and encourage her to express them as effectively as possible. I would have helped her do that, and then I would have asked questions." He further clarified his approach: "My rule is, I'm not going to be antagonistic, I'm not going to be a jerk… I have no interest in creating a viral clip. I never wanted that done to me, so why would I do that to someone else?"

Harris not talking about possible run for governor

Rogan reiterated his stance that the responsibility for the failed interview lies with the Harris campaign. "We have the documentation, by the way," he stated last week. "I have a complete record of the conversations. They never confirmed she would participate. This whole narrative that we sabotaged her and did so for Trump is simply false."
