Seventeen-year-old actor Jack Veal, known for portraying young Loki in the Disney+ series, recently shared his experience with homelessness via TikTok. Veal, who played a younger version of Tom Hiddleston's character in the show's first season, revealed he's been living in a damaged trailer in London after leaving home due to alleged abuse.
In the video, Veal candidly discussed his struggles with mental health, including autism, ADHD, and potential bipolar disorder and psychosis. He explained his difficult circumstances, stating that his grandfather's terminal illness prevents him from staying with his grandparents and that social services initially denied him assistance. Working as a personal trainer, Veal described the challenges of commuting two hours each way from his unsafe trailer, which lacks basic amenities like electricity and has broken windows. He appealed to his followers to share his story and raise awareness about the government's handling of vulnerable youth.
Veal's TikTok followers responded with an outpouring of support, offering advice, sharing similar experiences, and even extending invitations for him to stay in their homes. In a subsequent video, Veal expressed gratitude for the offers but emphasized his need for long-term stability, which he hoped to achieve through social services. He explained that temporary solutions wouldn't address his underlying need for consistent support. He later updated his followers, sharing that social services had contacted him to schedule a meeting regarding potential foster care and accommodations. Visibly emotional, Veal thanked his followers for their support and expressed hope for a positive outcome.
Beyond his role in "Loki," Veal has appeared in other television series such as "The End of the F***ing World," "Call the Midwife," and "Tin Cup," as well as films like "The Corrupted" and "Come Away."
