Georgia Couple Sentenced to Life in Prison for Horrific Abuse of Adopted Sons

A Georgia couple, William and Zachary Zulock, have been sentenced to 100 years in prison without the possibility of parole for the systemic sexual abuse of their two adopted sons. The Alcovy Judicial Circuit District Attorney's Office announced the sentencing on Monday, concluding a case District Attorney Randy McGinley described as a "house of horrors."

The Zulocks' crimes came to light following a cyber tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children regarding suspected homemade child sexual abuse material uploaded to a Google account linked to their Walton County residence. Subsequent investigations by the Walton County Sheriff's Office confirmed the victims in the material were the Zulocks' adopted children, who were in the third and fourth grades at the time.

William Zulock pleaded guilty to six counts of aggravated sodomy, three counts of aggravated child molestation, two counts of incest, and two counts of sexual exploitation of children. Zachary Zulock pleaded guilty to two counts of aggravated sodomy, three counts of aggravated child molestation, two counts of incest, two counts of sodomy, three counts of sexual exploitation of children, and two counts of pandering to a person under 18.

During interviews with authorities in July 2022, both men confessed to the ongoing abuse. Further incriminating evidence was gathered from surveillance cameras within their home, capturing multiple instances of the abuse. Investigators also uncovered graphic images, videos, text messages, and social media communications on the couple's cell phones.

District Attorney McGinley praised the resilience of the young victims and emphasized the importance of holding those who abuse adopted children accountable. He stated that the lengthy sentences ensure the victims can heal without fear of their abusers' release. Two other individuals, Hunter Clay Lawless and Luis Armando Vizcarro-Sanchez, were also prosecuted and sentenced in connection with the case for receiving and distributing child sexual abuse material related to the Zulocks' crimes. Lawless pleaded guilty to sexual exploitation of children, and Vizcarro-Sanchez pleaded guilty to pandering to a person under 18 and computer theft.
