Three Georgia teenagers are facing murder charges following a deadly confrontation that began with egging a house. 18-year-olds Sydney Maughon and Jeremy Munson, along with 19-year-old McKenzie Davenport, were arrested and charged with malice murder, battery, and criminal trespass. Maughon and Munson face additional charges of aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.
The incident occurred on Monday when the suspects allegedly egged the home of Jonathan Gilbert, also known as Tyler Lane. According to the Spalding County Sheriff's Office, the egging stemmed from an ongoing "lovers' quarrel" involving Gilbert. When Gilbert confronted the teens outside his Dobbins Mill Road residence, Maughon allegedly shot him multiple times. The suspects then fled the scene, leaving Gilbert's body in the road.

Although Maughon is accused of firing the weapon, authorities emphasize that all three teens are equally responsible. The sheriff's office stated that since they all planned and participated in the crime that led to the murder, they share the same level of culpability. "They went to egg a house, the victim confronted them while they were doing it, he lost his life, and they drove off and left his body in the middle of the road," the press release explained.

The Spalding County Sheriff's Office is actively investigating the incident.
