Pakistan spinner Noman Ali made history on January 25, 2025, by becoming the first-ever Pakistani spinner to take a hat-trick in Test cricket.
This remarkable achievement occurred during the second Test between Pakistan and the West Indies at Multan Cricket Stadium.
Ali claimed the wickets of Justin Greaves, Tevin Imlach, and Kevin Sinclair in succession, securing his place in cricket history with a memorable hat-trick.
On the other hand, West Indies scored 100 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in the second Test match against Pakistan in the ongoing series.
The match, being played in Multan, saw Pakistan's spinners dominate as they sent 7 West Indian batsmen back to the pavilion in just one hour. Noman Ali claimed 5 wickets, Sajid Khan took 2, and debutant Kashif Ali and Abrar took 1 wicket.
For West Indies, captain Kraigg Brathwaite scored 9, Mikyle Louis 4, and Justin Greaves 1, while Amir Jangoo, Alick Athanaze, Tevin Imlach, and Kevin Sinclair were dismissed for zero.
The only West Indian batters to reach double figures were Kemar Roach (25) and Kavem Hodge (21) before returning to the pavilion.
West Indies captain Kraigg Brathwaite won the toss and chose to bat first, aiming to set a strong total in the first innings. Pakistan’s captain Shan Masood emphasized using spin bowlers to halt West Indies’ progress and restrict their total.
Shan Masood also announced a change in the team, with fast bowler Kashif Ali making his Test debut, while Khurram Shehzad was rested.
