The New York Jets have significantly bolstered their offense with the acquisition of Aaron Rodgers, but some players believe the team isn't done yet. Tight end Tyler Conklin recently expressed his support for adding free-agent running back Dalvin Cook to the roster.
Speaking on NFL Network’s "Good Morning Football," Conklin stated there's definitely room for Cook on the team, emphasizing the Jets' ambition to win a Super Bowl and the value Cook could bring. He highlighted their previous camaraderie as teammates with the Minnesota Vikings, describing Cook as a great teammate and revealing he'd reached out to gauge Cook's interest in joining the Jets.
Cook's release from the Vikings in June freed up significant cap space for Minnesota, and his availability has sparked interest from several teams. Jets head coach Robert Saleh acknowledged the team's consideration of Cook, deferring the financial aspects of the potential move to General Manager Joe Douglas.
Wide receiver Garrett Wilson also voiced his enthusiasm for potentially playing alongside Cook, praising his talent and expressing his desire to see him join the Jets. While acknowledging the front office's responsibility for making personnel decisions, Wilson emphasized his admiration for Cook's playing style.
Cook's impressive NFL career includes 5,993 rushing yards and 47 touchdowns. Teams like the Miami Dolphins and New England Patriots are also reportedly interested in acquiring him.
