A New Mexico man, Jeremy Guthrie, is facing serious charges, including child rape, following a DUI arrest last summer. Bodycam footage reveals a disturbing scene where Guthrie, 42, was pulled over for erratic driving with six children in his pickup truck. The video shows Guthrie struggling to locate his license, his speech slurred, while officers discover the minors in the backseat. Guthrie initially claimed the children were his 18-year-old friends, a claim quickly refuted by the officer. Upon exiting the vehicle for a field sobriety test, Guthrie's fly was found unzipped, adding to the unsettling nature of the incident.
The DUI arrest was just the beginning of Guthrie's legal woes. Following the arrest, a subsequent investigation revealed allegations of sexual abuse from one of the girls in the vehicle. This led to additional charges against Guthrie, including multiple counts of criminal sexual penetration of a minor, criminal sexual contact with a minor, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, and false imprisonment.
Guthrie has been held without bond since July 2022 and is scheduled to appear in court again in November. The children involved in the incident were collected by their parents at the scene.
