Fresh off leading his high school alma mater to a Florida state championship, former NFL quarterback Teddy Bridgewater has indicated his intentions to return to professional football. Bridgewater, who coached Miami Northwestern to a decisive 41-0 victory over Jacksonville Raines High School in the Class 3A title game, shared his plans in a recent interview.

Following the championship win, Bridgewater confirmed his desire to return to the NFL, stating, "That's the plan. My team knows that's the plan." He envisions a return to the league followed by a return to coaching high school football in the offseason, saying, "We wanted to win a state championship and then coach goes back to the league, see what happens, and then come back February in the offseason, continue coaching high school football. We'll see how it plays out." While Bridgewater expressed his intentions, he remained tight-lipped about any specific contact with NFL teams.
This was Bridgewater's first season as head coach at Miami Northwestern. His successful season culminated in a dominant state championship performance.

The 32-year-old Bridgewater was a first-round draft pick by the Minnesota Vikings in 2014 and earned Pro Bowl honors in his second season. A severe knee injury in 2016 threatened to derail his career. After a lengthy recovery, he played in 15 games between 2017 and 2019 before securing starting roles with the Carolina Panthers and Denver Broncos in the 2020 and 2021 seasons, respectively. His most recent NFL stint was with the Detroit Lions in 2023. Over his career, Bridgewater has amassed 15,120 passing yards and 75 touchdowns in 79 games.
