A Houston driver suspected of human smuggling led Texas authorities on a dramatic high-speed pursuit on Tuesday, reaching speeds exceeding 100 mph before crashing his vehicle and attempting to escape on foot. The incident unfolded in Kinney County, located along the Texas-Mexico border.
Footage released by Texas Department of Public Safety Lt. Chris Olivarez shows the suspect's vehicle speeding down the highway, weaving through what appears to be a residential area, and eventually hitting a highway sign and crashing through a ranch fence. The driver then fled the scene on foot.

Law enforcement officers pursued the suspect and apprehended him along with two individuals believed to be undocumented immigrants, one male and one female, who were hiding in nearby brush. The driver was reported to have sustained a broken arm during the incident.
According to Lt. Olivarez, the driver is facing charges related to smuggling, evading arrest, and criminal mischief. The male passenger was also charged with evading arrest and criminal trespass, while the female passenger was handed over to U.S. Border Patrol for processing.
