Texas Man Sentenced to Life for Secretly Recording 23 Women

A 45-year-old Plano, Texas resident, Darius Bradford, has been sentenced to life in prison for surreptitiously recording 23 women. He was found guilty on three counts of burglary with intent to commit invasive visual recording, according to the Collin County District Attorney's Office. The case unfolded when a woman residing in the apartment complex where Bradford worked as a maintenance technician reported finding his cell phone hidden in her bathroom. Upon police arrival, the phone began remotely deleting the illicit content. However, investigators were able to recover videos showing Bradford setting up the phone to record the victim on three separate occasions.

Further investigation unearthed 47 additional invasive videos on Bradford's devices, depicting him secretly recording women in various stores and apartment complexes. Among the victims was the 15-year-old daughter of one of his former girlfriends. Bradford's method involved strategically placing his phone to capture women undressing or to look up their skirts. This wasn't his first offense. He had a prior arrest in 2008 for a similar incident at a Ross department store, resulting in probation and later jail time for failing to attend sex offender treatment. Another incident in 2010, involving allegedly recording a woman at a mall, did not lead to prosecution. In the current case, Bradford pleaded guilty and requested the jury determine his sentence. They handed down a life sentence for each charge.

District Attorney Greg Willis stated after the sentencing that Bradford exploited his position and manipulative personality to violate the privacy of 23 women on 47 occasions, justifying the life sentence.
