Trump Establishes Task Force to Combat Anti-Christian Bias

At the National Prayer Breakfast held in Washington, D.C., former President Donald Trump declared his intention to sign an executive order. This order directs the Department of Justice to form a specialized task force dedicated to eliminating anti-Christian prejudice across the nation. Trump expressed confidence in newly appointed Attorney General Pam Bondi's leadership of this initiative.

Trump emphasized the importance of addressing anti-Christian bias, stating its presence despite often being overlooked. The task force's primary objective is to immediately cease all instances of anti-Christian targeting and discrimination within the federal government. He specifically cited the Department of Justice, IRS, and FBI as agencies requiring attention in this regard. Beyond internal government practices, the task force will also pursue prosecution of anti-Christian violence and vandalism nationwide, while vigorously defending the rights of Christians and all religious believers.

During his time in office, Trump pledged to protect Christians across various societal spheres, including schools, the military, government, workplaces, hospitals, and public spaces. He reiterated his commitment to unifying the country as one nation under God, ensuring liberty and justice for all. Trump underscored the historical tendency of oppressive regimes to sever people's connection to their faith, contrasting this with the recognition by successful nations of the invaluable resource of faith within their populace. He emphasized faith as a cornerstone of national greatness and a source of strength and possibility.

According to sources, the executive order, to be signed later that day, aimed to “end the war on Christians” and safeguard the fundamental right to religious freedom for all Americans. The “Task Force to End the War on Christians” will consist of Cabinet members and representatives from key government agencies, with the overarching goal of dismantling the perceived anti-Christian weaponization of government.

The task force will conduct a comprehensive review of all departments and agencies to pinpoint and eradicate any policies, practices, or behaviors deemed anti-Christian. Input from various stakeholders, including faith-based organizations and individuals impacted by anti-Christian actions, will be solicited. Furthermore, the task force will identify and address any law enforcement deficiencies that have contributed to anti-Christian conduct, ensuring robust enforcement against acts of hostility, vandalism, and violence targeting Christians.

The White House criticized the previous administration for allegedly targeting peaceful Christians while overlooking violent anti-Christian offenses. Trump's administration aimed to identify, terminate, and rectify any unlawful and improper anti-Christian conduct, policies, or practices. This executive order follows the charging and sentencing of numerous pro-life Christians for demonstrations outside abortion facilities during the previous administration, and an FBI memo that categorized traditional Catholics as potential domestic terrorism threats.

At a separate prayer breakfast at the U.S. Capitol, Trump announced plans for another executive order to establish a “National Garden of American Heroes,” a new national park featuring statues of prominent Americans. He also addressed the recent midair collision tragedy in Washington, D.C., and his intention to collaborate with congressional leaders on legislation to modernize air traffic control systems.
