Two Women Shot Near Eagles Super Bowl Victory Parade Route in Philadelphia

During the Philadelphia Eagles' Super Bowl victory parade on Friday, a double shooting incident occurred near the designated route, injuring two women. The Philadelphia Police Department confirmed the incident, stating it took place around 2:35 p.m. near the 2300 block of Ben Franklin Parkway.

A 27-year-old Hispanic woman and a 20-year-old Asian woman suffered gunshot wounds to their left leg and upper left thigh, respectively. Both victims were transported to Presbyterian Hospital and are reported to be in stable condition. Authorities are actively investigating the incident, but as of yet, no crime scene has been established, no weapon recovered, and no arrests made. The police are urging anyone with relevant information to come forward.

Initial reports from CBS News broke the news of the shooting. The Philadelphia Inquirer, citing police sources, added that the two women, believed to be in their 20s, were allegedly shot by a man wearing an Eagles jersey after an altercation. Deputy Police Commissioner Frank Vanore confirmed the victims' stable condition but noted that the relationship between the women and the shooter, as well as the nature of the argument, remain unknown.
