Valerie Bertinelli Addresses Botox Experience and Calls for Kindness After Social Media Comment

Television personality and culinary figure Valerie Bertinelli recently opened up about her experience with Botox and advocated for online kindness after a social media user commented on her appearance. In a series of videos posted to Instagram and TikTok, Bertinelli directly addressed the commenter who remarked, "The Botox looks great." Bertinelli clarified that she didn't interpret the comment as a compliment and proceeded to share her personal experience with the cosmetic procedure.

Bertinelli revealed that she had tried Botox in the past, even showing a photo from six years ago to illustrate her point. She explained that the procedure altered the shape of her eyebrows and didn't achieve the desired effect on her genetically puffy eyes, a feature she's always been self-conscious about. She emphasized acceptance, stating that she's learned to live with her natural features.

The Food Network star also discussed abstaining from alcohol for most of the year, initially believing it contributed to her puffy eyes. However, she admitted that her eyes remained puffy despite the change. Bertinelli then addressed the core reason for her response video, highlighting the commenter's attempt to shame her. She stressed the importance of women supporting each other and refraining from online shaming, especially when individuals are trying to improve their self-esteem.

Bertinelli defended the right of individuals to explore options that make them feel better, regardless of others' opinions. She clarified that while Botox works well for some, it wasn't a good fit for her, and she was relieved when it wore off. She even revealed that she was using a filter in her video to soften her appearance, including her undereye circles, and demonstrated the difference with the filter off, attributing her dark circles to genetics. Bertinelli also mentioned using supplements like magnesium and melatonin for better sleep, but acknowledged that they didn't eliminate her dark circles.
