In a surprising turn of events, a Florida man's online search for drugs led him straight into the hands of law enforcement. Anthony Mata posted an ad on Craigslist seeking "ice or crack," stating he was new to the area, according to the Holmes County Sheriff’s Office. An undercover investigator, posing as a seller, responded to the ad and arranged a meeting.
Mata agreed to buy an "eight ball" of methamphetamine for $80. When he arrived at the designated location to complete the transaction, deputies were waiting to arrest him. He was subsequently charged with purchasing methamphetamine and unlawful use of a two-way communication device.
Mata's associate, Stephen Hornsby, who accompanied him, was also arrested and charged as a principal to the purchase of methamphetamine.
