Manhunt Expands in Multi-State Search for UnitedHealthCare CEO's Killer

The FBI has intensified its search for the individual suspected of fatally shooting UnitedHealthCare CEO Brian Thompson, releasing an updated wanted poster on Sunday and offering a reward of up to $50,000 for information leading to an arrest. The poster includes images of the suspect inside a taxi and walking on a sidewalk.

The FBI is collaborating with the NYPD in the investigation, urging anyone with information to contact their tip lines or submit tips online. The shooting occurred outside 1335 Avenue of the Americas in Midtown Manhattan around 6:40 a.m. on December 4, 2024.

Suspect Images Released by the FBI

Investigators believe the suspect may have left New York City after being seen entering the Port Authority bus station following the attack. This transportation hub provides routes to various locations including New Jersey, Boston, Philadelphia, and Washington, D.C., widening the scope of the manhunt, which is now in its fifth day.

Over the weekend, a backpack believed to belong to the suspect was discovered in Central Park. The backpack contained Monopoly money and a jacket. NYPD divers also searched a nearby lake within the park. Retired FBI agent Scott Duffey explained to Fox News Digital that the backpack will undergo forensic analysis for trace evidence like hair, fibers, and DNA, particularly focusing on areas like straps and zippers where the suspect may have left behind biological material.

Former homicide detective Ted Williams commented on the presence of Monopoly money in the backpack, suggesting it could be a tactic by the suspect to taunt authorities and exert a sense of control. He characterized it as a "cat and mouse game" with the killer intentionally leaving clues.
