An IRS whistleblower has come forward with allegations that Hunter Biden used his father's name in a WhatsApp message to pressure a Chinese business partner. The message, allegedly sent to Henry Zhao of Harvest Fund Management in 2017, purportedly shows Hunter Biden claiming he was with his father while demanding the fulfillment of a commitment.
Hunter Biden's lawyer, Christopher Clark, dismisses the claims as misleading and politically motivated leaks. Clark emphasizes that the period under investigation was a challenging time for his client, marked by personal struggles. He asserts that any actions taken by Hunter Biden during this period were solely his own and unconnected to his family.

Clark pointed to the recently concluded five-year DOJ investigation, which resulted in Hunter Biden pleading guilty to tax misdemeanors and accepting a pretrial diversion agreement for a firearm charge. He argues this demonstrates the thoroughness of the investigation and dismisses suggestions of preferential treatment.

The whistleblower's attorney, Mark Lytle, maintains the WhatsApp message was obtained legally through a search warrant of Hunter Biden's iCloud account, adding to its credibility. He highlighted the message's relevance to Hunter Biden's dealings with the Chinese energy company and the income he received. The White House, through spokesperson Ian Sams, reiterated President Biden's non-involvement in his son's business dealings. Sams emphasized the Justice Department's independent decision-making in criminal investigations and the President's pride in his son's acceptance of responsibility and efforts to rebuild his life.
