A Quiet Christmas Eve in Sports, Followed by a Christmas Day Feast

Looking for some sports action on Christmas Eve? You'll find it a bit slim, with just one event on the schedule before the Christmas Day sports bonanza. College football fans can enjoy the Hawaii Bowl, featuring the South Florida Bulls against the San Jose State Spartans. Kickoff is set for 8 p.m. ET.

The Bulls, led by coach Alex Golesh, enter the bowl game with a 6-6 record, mirroring their performance from the previous season when they triumphed in the Boca Raton Bowl. Their opponents, the Spartans, concluded their season at 7-5 under first-year coach Ken Niumatalolo. The Spartans are aiming to break a three-bowl losing streak, having lost the Hawaii Bowl last year, the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl in 2022, and the Arizona Bowl in 2020. Their last bowl victory dates back to the 2015 Cure Bowl.
